Session and Tracks
Track 1: Otolaryngology / Otorhinolaryngology
Otolaryngology, also known as otorhinolaryngology, is a medical specialty that focuses on the diagnosis and management of conditions related to the ears, nose, and throat (ENT). Practitioners in this field, commonly known as otorhinolaryngologists or ENT physicians, undergo training in both medicine and surgery. Patients typically seek the expertise of these specialists for issues involving the ear, nose, and throat. Otolaryngologists utilize a hands-on approach to diagnosis through physical analysis.
This track encompasses various aspects of otolaryngology, including diseases of the ear, nose, and throat, paranasal sinuses, oral cavity, salivary glands, pharynx, larynx, and esophagus. Otolaryngologists also address ear infections and perform physical analyses for diagnosis.
Track 2: ENT Surgery
ENT surgery becomes necessary when non-invasive treatments and medications prove ineffective in addressing conditions affecting the ears, nose, or throat. Otorhinolaryngology, as a diverse medical specialty, includes sub-specialties such as laryngology, pediatric otology, neurotology, and rhinology, among others. ENT surgery is applied in various procedures, such as biopsies, nasal septum surgery, tonsillectomy, sinus surgery, head and neck cancer surgery, neck dissection, parotidectomy, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, septoplasty, and thyroidectomy.
